TCFA EDUCATION FOUNDATION AWARDS
THREE SCHOLARSHIPS
The Texas Cattle Feeders Association (TCFA) Education Foundation has awarded scholarships to three college students to help them complete research projects in cattle feeding. In all, the scholarships totaled $7,000.
The three students are Guillermo Scaglia of Amarillo, a Ph.D. candidate at Texas A&M University; Marty Rhoades of Amarillo, a master's student at West Texas A&M University; and Jason Williams of Canyon, a Ph.D. student at Texas A&M University.
All three students are involved in cattle feeding research through the Consortium for Cattle Feeding and Environmental Sciences. The consortium is comprised of faculty from Texas A&M University, West Texas A&M University; USDA, Texas Tech University and New Mexico State University.
"The TCFA Education Foundation dedicates its scholarship funds to students who need financial assistance and who have demonstrated a desire to pursue careers in cattle feeding," said TCFA President & CEO Richard McDonald. "This works well because it allows us to fund research that will bring positive benefits to cattle feeders while helping students who will graduate to become involved in our industry."
